Service Standards
- UCLAx Career Services Office reserves the right to refuse service to any employer not meeting the standards and principles mentioned on this webpage.
- We can refuse service to employers if the work is deemed inappropriate for our learner population. These include but are not limited to unsafe working conditions, discriminatory work environments, and other questionable practices.
- We do not work with third-party recruiters or agencies asking for payment from learners.
- We do not provide candidate screening for employers.
Internship Requirements
- UCLAx Career Services may approve paid and unpaid internships if the opportunity is a match with one of our academic programs offering an internship course.
- The employer, the student participating in the internship, and the UCLA Extension designate must complete the required Internship Agreement prior to the start of the internship.
- Our philosophy on unpaid internships is in line with the UCLA Extension Internship Policy (full text here) and the NACE Guide to Internships.
- Employers hiring international students for full-time, part-time, and internship positions must comply with federal regulations related to CPT, OPT, and on-campus employment. For more information, click here.
Requests for Student Information
- UCLA Extension does not provide personally identifiable information of students without their consent. This helps us stay compliant with the Family Education Rights and Privacy (FERPA) Act. For more information on FERPA, please read UCLA Policy 220 and UC Policy 130-134.
UCLA Extension Career Services reserves the right to refuse service to any employer not meeting these standards.
