WHO WE ARE:
Billings Productions Inc., is an independent production company created to provide a platform for underrepresented filmmakers. We are a growing company with a team of award-winning filmmakers with a wide range of experience. Our goal through the internship is to give interns real-world experience with attentive supervision. We are dedicated to assisting your growth and identifying your career goals within the industry. We are also willing to adjust some tasks to the interests of the individual so they experience the full benefit of the internship.
THE INTERNSHIP:
This internship will be remote and you will be working directly with our producing team. It will provide you the opportunity to pick the brain of industry professionals in the indie world while assisting with the development of several projects.There are many career routes in this business, and we want to do our best to cater the tasks to meet your interests. This opportunity will consist of Development, Pre-Production and Corporate tasks (some of the tasks listed below) with a possible opportunity to be hired after program completion on a production.
REQUIREMENTS:
The intern will communicate with their supervisor over the phone, email and virtual meetings via Zoom. This is a remote position and can be done anywhere, but it is preferred that this individual is located in the United States. Intern must have a reliable computer and secure wifi. Those experienced with Studiobinder, Final Draft and GSuite are a plus but not required.
WHO SHOULD APPLY:
If you are hungry for experience and have a “get my foot in the door” attitude, this is the internship for you. If you have a strong work ethic, great communication skills and passion for this industry this internship is for you. We are a small team and hard work does not go unnoticed. Industry experience is not necessary.
SCHEDULE:
8-12 hours per week, possibly on weekends for a total of 120 hours.
PROJECT TASKS:
Tasks
– Assist with script/book Breakdown
– Researching Locations
– Assist with website maintenance and writing copy
– Assist with fundraising
– Taking Meeting Minutes
– Managing social media and content creation
– Researching film comps and other elements for a Pitch Deck
Goals:
– To gain experience in the process of film development with industry professionals
– Gain knowledge in starting and building a production company
CORPORATE TASKS:
– Script Coverage for script submissions
– Maintaining script submission spreadsheet
– Managing Social Media
– Writing Blog posts
– Updating the company rolodex for companies and contacts
– Taking Meeting minutes
Goals:
– Learn the skills of script coverage
– Understand the structure of an independent production company
– Learning the script option process
