The Department of Public Works, County Surveyor’s Division, is recruiting for Land Surveyors who plan, coordinate, and resolve legal and other problems related to survey functions. Land Surveyors sign and seal all documents in accordance with state law; review maps for conformity to planning regulations and accepted land surveying practices; certify that all conditions of approval and other legal requirements have been met; provide lead direction over technicians; confer with representatives of various departments, governmental agencies, private engineers, surveyors, title insurance industry, and land developers on matters affecting mapping, land boundary determinations, legal access, real property rights, and perpetuation of survey monuments; analyze land, cadastral, and geodetic surveys, and right of way engineering; write legal descriptions and documents; and prepares presentations to the Planning Commission.
Minimum Requirements:
Possession of a current license to practice Land Surveying in the State of California –OR– be a Registered Civil Engineer authorized to practice land surveying in the State of California. Pursuant to Business and Profession Codes 8700-8805.
