Type of Assignment: Classified/Staff
Compensation: Starting at $28.41 per hour; $40,627.13 annually (range 19, step 1).
A full benefits package which includes employer-paid medical, dental, and vision plans for employee and dependents; $100,000 employee life insurance; other optional coverages; and membership in the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS).
One regular, part-time position, typically 30 hours per week, equivalent to 11 months per year spread over 12, on the Oceanside campus. The work schedule will normally be Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation. This is an “extended day” position, subject to possible fluctuations in daily working hours, and may be exempt from compensation for overtime in excess of 8 hours in one day. Hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week period shall be compensated on an overtime basis.
Under general supervision, train students on the use of assistive technologies compatible with their accessibility needs; work with students, faculty and staff to adapt course work and help facilitate accessible content requirements; ensure accessibility equipment and software environments are properly maintained and are in sound working order; and perform related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
1. Graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree in a related field, AND
2. At least one year of responsible experience in working with disabled students that provided familiarity with determining appropriate alternate media and assistive technologies to meet their needs; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
