Riot Games, Inc. seeks Game Designer II in Los Angeles, CA.
Job Duties: Designing, tweaking and optimizing the player experience including writing design specs, pitching and getting team buy in for player facing features, implementing and iterating on design features and content in engine. Crafting in- and out-of-game experiences that engage and surprise players. Leveraging knowledge and experience with The Chinese and global player audience to inform product decisions. Directing and mentoring external Mandarin speaking design partners. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to innovate and iterate player-focused designs that’ll delight millions around the world. Coordinating with the team product manager to prioritize and ensure design deadlines. Strategically understanding the direction and goals of the product, and creating content that compliments that strategy. Using deep understanding of the player audience to champion designs and features that help achieve overarching product goals. Planning and designing features with the Design Lead and Project Lead to meet high level product goals. Responding and iterating to stakeholder feedback to ensure goals are met. Utilizing data and sense making to help solve diverse problem sets. Facilitating and gathering feedback as well as analyzing and interpreting results from playtests and player labs. Receiving and giving nuanced and relevant feedback in order to strengthen idea or solution. Building alignment and strong relationships across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure a collaborative working environment. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Entertainment Technology, Graphic Design, or closely related quantitative discipline and one (1) year of experience in job offered or one (1) years of experience in the field of network engineering or infrastructure architecture or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Entertainment Technology, Graphic Design, or closely related quantitative discipline and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of network engineering or infrastructure architecture.
