Seeking a skilled and experienced Paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
- At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
- Extensive experience with motion writing and discovery in a busy law firm setting
- Prior experience as a litigation paralegal in a busy law firm setting
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client services, including problem-solving
- Knowledge of computer office programs, legal software, and telephones
- Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately regarding complex situations and tasks
- Ability to utilize independent reason and problem-solving skills with limited oversight in order to make accurate decisions
- Ability to follow instructions and utilize problem-solving skills to meet crucial deadlines
- Strong ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulations
- Knowledge of Civil Procedure
- Familiarity/knowledge of landlord-tenant laws
- Unlawful detainer experience
