Venable has an opportunity for a Legal Administrative Assistant experienced in supporting a commercial litigation practice to join our growing Century City office.
The ideal candidates will be responsible for…
•Prioritizing assignments and preparing often sensitive and detailed correspondence, such as responses to requests for information or regularly recurring reports, from rough draft or dictation.
•Assisting with discovery, including third party subpoenas, new matter file opening, trial support and communication with court clerks and vendors
•Professionally answers, screens, places calls, and records and communicates messages according to appropriate procedures.
•Scheduling appointments, making travel and/or meeting arrangements and maintaining business calendars
•Coordinating with billing attorneys on all monthly pre-bills and necessary revisions
The successful candidates will demonstrate…
•2 years of experience supporting a fast-paced commercial litigation practice
•Advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook
•Experience using document management systems preferably WorkSite/FileSite
•Ability to manipulate PDF documents and use associated software tools such as PDF Converter, Nuance PDF Converter and Adobe Reader
•Ability to proof and edit (using edit marks) non-routine correspondence, reports and tables for typographical errors and sentence structure.
•Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
