This scholarship is a collaboration between the National Association of Minority Contractors of Southern California (NAMCSC) and the Center to Advance Racial Equity Policy (CAREP) at the RAND Corporation.

NAMCSC seeks to develop the next generation of minority and women-owned construction businesses to help build a sustainable, safer, more diverse, and economically competitive Southern California.

CAREP aims to develop the next generation of policy leaders and those that influence them to debate, design, and address racial equity going forward.

This scholarship was created to benefit underrepresented populations who are pursuing study or work in the fields of construction, engineering, math, science, technology, and trades. Priority given to building trades, mechanical, electrical & civil engineering; however, other majors will be considered.

Two (2) scholars will be selected to receive scholarships of $500 each, which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition, courses, and usual fees, $25 for travel expenses, and admittance to the 25th Annual NAMC Awards banquet on Dec. 9th at 6:30pm.

This is a great opportunity to meet industry professionals in the fields of construction, engineering, and project management.

Scholarship Information

DEADLINE: Dec. 3rd, 2021

Age/Grade Level: High school or college students with a focus on underrepresented minorities and women

Minimum enrollment: currently enrolled in one (1) course in the field of construction, engineering, math, science, technology, and trades. Priority given to building trades, mechanical, electrical & civil engineering, or related field.

Preference for applications who can demonstrate the following: Community involvement and interest in either public policy or advocacy.
